Impact on daily life

Impact. 14th December
The Government wants to give the vaccine to millions of people.  This means that GPs have to agree to inject people from early in the morning until late in the evening.  They also have to watch people for 15 minutes after the injection in case there is a reaction.  GPs say they have no extra staff to do this and many are refusing.  They will be paid £12 for each patient.  Doctors are not impressed and there is no computer connection  between GPs and hospitals so they do not know which patients have had the vaccine from the hospitals.  Some hospitals are still using paper records.  Computer medical records are different across the UK and the systems is not joined up.
Isolation time has been reduced from 14 days to 10 days.  That is for people who have been in contact with someone who has the virus.
Government says it will have mass testing in three new areas from this week.  At the same time there is a lot of facebook and other fake information which is saying the vaccine is bad for you.  Some people are refusing to have the vaccine.  They may think this helps them but actually it makes it a risk for other people as the refusers will transmit the virus to other people.
Interested in pies?  Eat the odd pie?  The organiser of the world pie eating contest has asked Boris to allow them to have their championship in Wigan (Tier 3 area).  They argue that this is an elite sport (like football etc) and also requires people to eat a “substantial meal”.  Ha Ha.
