Primark gives back £72 million of furlough money

Many companies claimed money from the Government to pay for furlough for their staff.  Last week the shops opened again.  Primark does not have online sales.  The shops opened and they broke their records for their sales.  Primark now says they can give back the money they had for furlough.
PM Boris says not many people are “double hatting”
What does it mean?  Last week, Deaf station reported about David Cameron asking Government to lend money.  Naughty.  Then we found out – a senior Civil Servant was working for Government AND for another company.  They call this “double hatting.”  PM Boris says just a few people are like this.  But we now find out about MPs who leave and work for companies.   They get category X passes – this means they can wander into Parliament and talk to other MPs.  They can ask for help for their companies.  Not fair.
Court fines Tesco for out of date food
Birmingham Council charged Tesco – they were selling out of date food in 3 stores.  Tesco have to pay out more than  £7 million.
Colin versus Cuthbert in cake war
Have you tried Marks and Spencer’s Colin the Caterpillar cake?  There was a big fuss when Aldi started to sell their own Cuthbert the caterpillar cake – it looks the same (see photo).  Marks and Spencer’s said that Colin was a trademark and Aldi were copying.  Aldi had to stop selling.  Now they say will sell it only for charity.
