Impact on daily life

Impact 25th June
There are worries about overcrowding of the mountain beauty spots when lockdown ends.  They say Glencoe, Loch Lomond, Snowdonia and Brecon Beacons will suddenly have thousands of people wanting to walk in the hills and mountains.  Car parking and other facilities may not be able to cope.  When we see what’s happening to the seaside, this problem is likely.
Big changes for 4th July.  There is a new law coming to make people feel better (from 4th July).  You will not need planning permission to have a summer fair or outdoor market or car boot sale.  They will change the law about alcohol so you can take drinks out of the pub or off-licence and drink outside.  This is not allowed at the moment.  Unions and the drinks association say that they have not been consulted and that the plans for 4th July are causing confusion and will be chaos.
Bad news for blind people.  The Charity Commission inspected schools and residential homes run by the Royal National Institute for Blind People (RNIB),  The report says there were many incidents where people were put at risk or suffered harm or distress.  The say RNIB had poor management and there were staff problems.  This happened over a long period of time.  They failed in their duty of care.
Help for the hearing?  New advice for hairdressers,  They have to turn down the volume of music in the salon so that hearing people do not have to shout.  They think if they shout it will spread the virus more.
