Impact on daily life

Impact 29th June
There is a possibility that the first local lockdown will happen in Leicester as there has been a surge in cases recently.
Boris announces that the Government will give £1 billion for school building for future education in England.  Only problem is that Head teachers say the Government’s Audit Office shows that there is a backlog of over £6 billion of repairs needed.
More argument with schools as Government now says the 2 metre rule is not needed for Primary school children … and this was not needed at all.  Head teachers can’t believe this confusion as they have made all the arrangements to meet the rule
Remember the campaign for school meal vouchers for children in school holidays.  Good.  But parents and schools say the system has not been working.  Delays and then vouchers which did not work at the checkout.  In some areas, there were no shops to accept the vouchers.  The £234 million scheme was given to a French company without a competition.
Parks are worried about litter and people using the park as a toilet (see the photo from Regent’s Park).
Sad to say – because churches are closed and even when they open, singing is banned because the virus is carried from voice.  The choirs may not be ready for Christmas.
