Impact on daily life

Impact 27th July
Because of the lockdown, now you can make your will and get it signed on Zoom….what does that mean?  Lawyers recommend that if you are over 60 or have health issues, you should make a will.  Nowadays, we also talk about a “living will”.  An ordinary will is after you die and a living will is how you should get treatment in hospital or care.  For a will you have to have two witnesses to say it is your signature (not to read it).  Now they can witness this on Zoom if you record your conversation with them and they give their personal details.  This could be very helpful to deaf people as they can do this part in BSL.
There has been an increase in parents asking about private schools…. To start in September.  Many parents are very unhappy about the ordinary schools and the loss of school time for lessons for the last four months.  The parents do not think that ordinary schools will have the funding to have enough teachers or enough equipment.  They are thinking to send their children to private schools.  There is a big gap opening up between the private schools who can teach their pupils online and the other schools where class sizes are too large.  Of course, this means that wealthy parents could get better education.  That is not supposed to happen.
Going to Venice?  Fancy a trip on a gondola?  Hmm … now they are reducing the number of people who can get in the boat as many tourists are overweight… and it really rocks the boat.  Doctors in the UK are trying to get people to eat better and to have more exercise.  There will be improvement for cycle lanes and places to leave bikes.  It‘s a good idea if you ever want to go to Venice.
