The Queen’s speech about housebuilding and voting
The Queen gives a speech about the plans of the Government.  There were 30 new laws.  This includes 5G mobile networks; a new advanced research agency; laws to stop refugees crossing the channel;  loans for people to train for skills in further education.  One thing missing – plans for social care – looking after older people.  Many people are disappointed.  Others angry over law to take away countryside and build houses.
Another big scam to avoid tax and take the money overseas
We all know about the Track and Trace system for covid.  PM Boris said it was world beating.  Other MPs said it was a waste of money.  Now we know there is a big scam in there.  Thousands of people got jobs to give out tests and to phone to trace people.  They were happy for the money.  But their payslip was odd.  They thought they were working for one big company.  Their pay slip was different.  It was pay from a company in the Philippines.  In fact, each week it was from a different company in the Philippines. These are mini companies and they don’t pay tax if they are very small.  They all started around the time of the pandemic. The owners are making millions of pounds from the Government.  But the owners are not in the Philippines that is the scam.  Someone else is setting up the companies.  They are breaking the law.
This could be a problem for Apple in UK
When you buy an app on the app store, Apple gets 30% of the price.  A group is now trying to make a case in court that this is too much and people should get money back.  Not sure this will work.  Apple say no way.
