Impact on daily life

Impact 8th June
When the schools closed, the plan was for children to continue to work at home – home schooling.  There is a lot of information online for families to use.  Private schools have set up online live lessons.  For ordinary secondary schools, especially year 10 where they are working for their GCSE, pupils have to work on laptops and tablets from home.  Many families cannot afford these and some do not even have an Internet.  The Government promised that they would supply 100 thousand devices so that all children could do the work.  Schools say that they have not received any of these laptops…. After nearly 3 months.
Fancy a trip to the zoo?  Well, that has to wait.  Zoos have lots of space and it is easy to have social distance but for some reason, they are not allowed to open.  Many zoos are having huge financial problems as they have to feed the animals and maintain the space.  They say zoos may have to close down altogether unless they can open up for visitors.
Countries in Europe have worked on the virus in different ways and the results have been very good in Denmark and Germany and bad in Spain, France and Italy, and of course in UK.  There has been a survey since March.  People have high confidence in the Government in Denmark and Germany, but confidence in the UK government has dropped more than any other country because the cases and deaths are highest.  And because of the Cummings affair.  People do not believe what the Government is saying.
