Impact on daily life

Impact 17th June
There was a huge fuss when a Government Minister started a Twitter argument with Marcus Rashford.  Then lots of people were agreeing with Rashford that poorer children should have meal vouchers in the holidays.  The pressure worked and Boris had to make a U-Turn to give the vouchers for food.  It is only £15 per week.
Boris made an unexpected announcement that he was joining tow Government departments – the Foreign Office and the International Development Office.  So what?  Well it means that there will be more control over money UK gives as aid to some countries and three former Prime Ministers have said this is a really bad idea as it will mean Britain has less influence in the world and will have less respect in poorer countries.
New discovery that the Government has no idea how many people are illegal immigrants in the UK.  This was supposed to be a big argument about Brexit.  But the lists of people who are illegal has not been updated for 15 years.  Many people who are arrested and are asked to leave, just disappear again.  People in detention centres just get released and are not tracked.
Premier League football is starting again.  Remember … 22 rich guys chasing a round object and kissing each other when the ball goes in the goal?  Well there is no more kissing, hugging or even hand shaking and no crowds of people to watch.  Matches will be on TV for free and there will be lots of excitement…. maybe.
