Impact on daily life

Impact  5th October
Labour deader Starmer says Boris has lost control of the virus and he says it is “serial incompetence” – meaning there have been mistakes again and again.
There has been a big rise in virus cases in doctors and nurses and care home workers in London.  It seems that they are carrying out more test and catching people before they have symptoms, which could be a good thing but then the doctor has to into isolation and that affects the staffing.
Children with special needs are missing more of school time than other children.  There are issues about transport and school rules about the virus.  Parents complain that they are not receiving proper home learning from the schools and that the children’s behaviour is worse because their school routine is upset.  Some parents say they have had very little contact or help from the schools.
With many people working from home, it is likely that their home electricity and gas bills will go up.  If you go to the office, you can turn your heating off and keep warm at work.  If you stay at home, you need to pay the bills yourself.  Estimates are that it will cost at least £100 more over the winter if you are working at home.
No tricks or treats this year on Halloween if you live in one of the lockdown or restriction areas because of the virus.  Even if you live in a different area, the kids cannot go out in groups of more than 6.  They can’t fine the kids but they can fine the parents.
