On the weekend, Boris cancelled his instructions for Christmas. Now only one day to visit people. London and the South East are now in Tier 4 which says you cannot travel out of the area or into the area. So there was chaos on Saturday at train stations as people tried to beat the lockdown. The health experts said, do not go even if you packed your suitcase.

The same for Christmas shopping in Tier 4 – lots of people tried to beat the lockdown as all shops were closed from Sunday.
So what exactly is the rule for Christmas now?
In Tier 4, non-essential shops, hairdressers, gyms, cinemas have to close for 2 weeks. Only meet one other person when outside. Not allowed to stay away from home at night. No travel outside of Tier 4 areas.
For everyone across the UK, Christmas meeting can only be one day – not 5 days. Stay local and no overseas travel. If you visit people, only be there for a short time.
If relatives are in Tier 4, you can’t go to visit them.
Wales is in full lockdown apart from Christmas Day. In Scotland mixing in houses only on Christmas Day and maximum 8 people. Expect to have level 4 restrictions from Boxing Day.
