Impact on daily life

UK 23rd March
Independent inquiry says Nicola Sturgeon did not break the ministerial code.
The code is a set of guidelines about what a minister in a government can do and what they can say.  It usually means you have to follow the general rules in the Parliament and you must not tell lies.  The Conservatives tried to say she lied but the inquiry says she did not.  The Conservatives still want to have a vote of no confidence but this is likely to fail as the Green Party will not support this.  This is a big relief for the Scottish National Party.
On Monday, frightening video from Bristol.  There was a peaceful protest and march in the city.  People are not happy with the Government planning new actions against demonstrations.  In the evening some people started to sit down in the street outside the police station in the centre of town. When it got dark, the fighting started.  People were there on purpose to attack the police.  They smashed windows and set fire to 2 police vans.  Another ten vans were damaged.  They caused £1m worth of damage.  The Mayor of Bristol said the people were selfish and were “living out their revolutionary fantasies.”   The police have video and will arrest more of the people who caused the trouble.
In Scotland, they found 2 missing 12 year-old girls.  They were playing in the park and decided to catch a train to Glasgow (no ticket).  Then they caught the train back, but they fell asleep.  They woke up in the morning and had to bang on the window because they were locked in the train.  They had no ticket so they had to hide on the train.  The driver did not see them.  Parents were frantic.  All was well in the end.
