Huge waiting list for operations in hospitals in England.  There are nearly 4 million people on the waiting list to have an operation.  Half of them have been waiting for more than 18 weeks.  There is some progress  – 140 thousand knee and hip replacements were done in July.  In accident and emergency, things are coming back to the same level as before the virus with 1.7 million going to A&E.
The Union for University staff say it is crazy to bring back students to universities when they are not allowed to mix – the rule of 6 people only together.  The Union says all teaching should just switch to online.  Government says it is OK to come back as long as the rules are followed.
Morisons supermarket says that prices will rise in the food shops if there is a no deal Brexit.  They have stocks of many British products but fruit and vegetables cannot be stored an a lot comes from other parts of Europe.
Tescos will have a trial of deliveries by drone.  They say small items can arrive 30 minutes after you order them.  The drone can carry 4 kilograms of food in a package.
The Premier league football starts this weekend with no fans.  Liverpool have to play Leeds.  This brings back memories of the 1970s when they were the two top teams in England they had many hard games.
