 UK News 11th May
All results from election now – Tories win councils; Labour wins Mayors.

Conservatives win an extra 292 seats and many councils.  Labour wins 11 out of 13 Mayors.  You have to get 50% of the votes, so there are 2 counts – your first and second choice.  Labour won five from second count.  Guess what?  The Conservatives now want to change the law.  No second count just the first person with most votes.  That would help the Conservatives.
Scotland diversity in Parliament
Two women of colour won their election.  One for SNP and one for the Conservatives.  Now 45% of members of Scottish parliament are female.  Another breakthrough – Pam Duncan-Glancy, who is in a wheelchair all the time, won for Labour.  Sadly, when she arrived to the place where they counted the votes, they refused to let her in.  They did not believe she was the candidate to be elected.  Bad attitude.  This must change.
Sir David Attenborough will be People’s advocate on climate
The plan is for a climate change conference in Glasgow in November.  Thousands of people will come from all over the world.  Some people think the conference may have to be postponed because of covid.  Sir David says that the climate change in the next 5 or 10 years will be worse than Covid.  World leaders have to act now to reduce the pollution and greenhouse gas.
