Track and trace system had its worst week ever – only contacted about 60% of the people it was meant to reach.  This performance will not keep the virus down.
Police in South London had to break up a wedding reception on Tuesday where there were over 100 people.  No masks, no distancing and it is against the law to have so many people together indoors.  The owner of the venue can be fined £10,000.
Rules about masks in Scotland have changed.  You have to wear a mask in canteens and corridors and anywhere people are grouped together.  However, if you are getting married, the bride and groom do not have to wear masks at the ceremony.
Liverpool may have a 2-week half term break for schools to help to control the virus.  The kids could be taught at home for one week.  Liverpool schools have 900 cases of the virus at the moment.  They do not want to close the schools but 385 teachers have the virus and already 21,000 children are self isolating.
People travelling into the UK from Italy now have to isolate for 2 weeks.  But it is possible now to go to Crete and return to UK without the 2 weeks in isolation.
Did you know that if you have been working from home since March you can claim tax relief.  You can get £125 if you were told by your employer that you should work from home (you don’t get the money if you decided yourself).  It is an online form on gov.uk website.  You don’t get the cash but get your tax code is changed.
