Impact on daily life

UK 25th January
Heathrow chaos at customs (see photo)
People were in queues for an hour in closed-in hall in Heathrow Terminal 2.  Most had masks but no social distance.  Government wants to close the border and to stop virus getting in … but too late if we believe the photo.
Small companies are strangled by Brexit forms
Brexit Boris said UK is now free to live and to trade.  But there are huge problems.  Companies in Europe are refusing to send goods to UK because of all the paperwork.  EU companies refuse to pay the 20% VAT added to costs when the goods arrive with them.  We know about the fishing which has stopped because of delays.  Now small companies are told to set up their own office in the EU to solve the problems …. So why did they leave the EU in the first place?  Looks like only Amazon will manage.
Nearly half of ethnic group refuse vaccine
We know that people in France are suspicious of the vaccine.  Now it is happening in the UK.  In Birmingham, half of Black and Asian people refuse to have the vaccine.  These groups have higher death rates.  Some say it is because they have bad experiences with the health system – they ask why are more people in their groups dying?  Serious problem.
Got my vaccine! – now freedom?
People over 70 years will start get the vaccine now.  Some people on TV say, when they get the vaccine, they can be back to normal.  Actually no. They will still have to follow all the rules and it is possible they can still pass on the virus.
