Impact on daily life

Impact 4th August
In Birmingham, very few people have gone back to work in offices.  Boris suggested that people should return … but most people still think it is risky and they are comfortable working from home.
Kids in Scotland receive their exam results today.  Happy for some, not so good for others.  All the grades are estimates by teachers because there were no final exams due to the virus.  In England, Wales and Northern Ireland, the A-level results are out on 13th August and the GCSEs on 20th August.  Grades in Scotland and the A-level results are really important for going to college and University.  Big day for the parents as well.
Trouble in the centre of Cardiff.  Crowds of young people have been meeting up in the centre with no masks or distancing.  Lots of drinking and so trouble started.  Police tried to break it up.  They said this was bad behaviour even if there was no virus.  And of course, afterwards, there was a huge litter problem.
Weird.  A man got a penalty fine (£90) for taking his family to a virus test centre.  The testing was in a shopping centre car park and when he left the camera automatically showed that he had not paid for a parking ticket.  The camera got his number plate and the computer automatically issued the notice of the fine.  He complained and the fine got dropped.
