Impact on daily life

Impact. 15th September
Some areas in the UK are hotspots for the virus and there is more lockdown there.  But people cannot get tests.  It is not clear why there is a problem.  It may be that the places which analyse the tests are not able to keep up.  If the tests are held up by two days, the analysis may not be reliable and people would have to go back for new tests.  Scottish and Welsh Governments are complaining about the situation.  This just makes it more likely that the virus situation will get worse.
London City Airport will lose one third of the jobs there due to the flights being cancelled.  There is hardly any air traffic.  But Domino’s Pizza are taking on new staff – up to 5 thousand because home deliveries are increasing.
More people are looking to rent houses away from the centre of London now, as they can work from home and do not need to use the public transport around London.  It may be that the future jobs will be from home and not in offices.
People have gone back to their cars.  Because of the virus and Government advice not to use public transport, there was more traffic in outer London than in previous years.  The worst day was September 7th when schools were going back.  The traffic in Central London is much less but in other area people have to use their cars.
