Welsh pubs and restaurants can open from next Monday.  Scotland is taking more time.
The Unions say that people who are shielding should not be forced to go back to work.  Boris says the virus has not gone away.  It could be dangerous for people with other conditions to go back into offices or to be in contact with people at work.  Many of the big companies are not bringing people back to the Office right away.  Other have installed thermal scanning to check that people coming in do not have high temperatures.  Another company has nurse at the front door to check on people
England has the highest rate in Europe for additional deaths over normal due to the virus. (see the chart).  This means that more people are dying than expected but not through the virus directly.  This is worst in Birmingham, London and Manchester.
New part lockdown in some areas for people meeting in friends and family houses.  The Government says that people from different houses must not meet in the house or in other people’s gardens.  The problem is because people are not keeping social distance.  This applies to Manchester, East Lancashire, Leicester and parts of West Yorkshire.
One newspaper today says that dementia is caused by people eating too much, smoking and drinking alcohol.  People do not take exercise.  They say that many thousands of cases of dementia could be avoided.  This advice is good for general health and it should be obvious:  “eat healthy and do more exercise!”
