More trouble for PM Boris over Patel
There is a new court case against PM Boris. What is it now? You may remember last year there was an investigation about the behaviour of the Home Secretary – Priti Patel. The verdict was she was abusive and bullied people. The report says she broke the rules for being a minister. When this happens the minister has to resign. But PM Boris refused to listen. Now the Civil service have gone to Court. They say PM Boris was wrong. He should have sacked her. The court will look into the case.
So what else has PM Boris done so far?
Labour Party says he is lying over who paid for his flat in Downing Street. They want an investigation. They say he was given money by the Conservative Party. He says he paid it back. But if it was a loan, he has to report this at the time. He did not. He broke the rules. Worse, at least two people claim, he said he would rather see the “bodies piled high” than have a third lockdown. Families who lost a relative are very shocked. Of course, Boris denies he said this.
Interpreter sacked for smoking – UK refuses to let him in
The army is leaving Afghanistan in September. There were
Many people worked for the British. Not many British soldiers can speak Pashto or Dari. They had to employ local people as interpreters. The interpreters are worried that the Taliban will kill them. Usually, interpreters are allowed to come to Britain to protect them and their families. Not all. One Afghan interpreter was caught smoking – was sacked. Now they refuse to let him come to UK. Over 1,000 interpreters were sacked. Some serious reasons, many just trivial. Now they are worried – the Taliban will find them and kill them because they worked for the British.
