Impact on daily life

Impact 28th May
We talk a lot about care homes and carers.  But there are a large number of children who have to care for parents.  It seems they have no proper support in lockdown and may be refused access to food shopping for sick or disabled parents.  This could affect kids with deaf parents.Tests at Weston Super Mare hospital found that 40% of staff have got the virus.  So no new patients accepted there.    Other reports about care homes say that staff have been carrying virus and some go from one care home to the next as part-time.
Shock for many people with cancer, liver problems or asthma because they received text to say they were taken off the Government shielding list.  That is a special support programme with food parcels.  No explanation so far.
Hairdressers want to open before 4th July.  They say the Government is taking too long.  Many spent a lot of money for screens and new procedures.  They want to get started.
Premier League agree to start training with contact (not social distancing) – hoping that soon they can play games.  However, 4 players or coaches have now got the virus – so that could hold things up, especially if other players in contact have stay home for 7 days.
Hooray! At least for a lot of people …as McDonalds plan to open all stores from 4th June.  But only for drive through or home delivery.  Need to make sure they have touch screen outside for deaf customers… not just voice.
