Government plans lockdown to last until 2^nd December and then the Tier system will come back.  One minister says the lockdown could continue after 2^nd December.  Boris has to tell MPs in Parliament, first,  and then there is a vote on Wednesday which will confirm the lockdown.  The lockdown will be in force on Thursday at midnight.  Nearly everything closes down across the country except for shops selling food;  travel is banned,.  The worry for Boris is that if they do not stop the virus, then all other operations and hospital care will not happen.  That will cause more deaths.
It looks like special troops will be used to help the police to make sure people follow the guidance.  These are not regular army troops but security people who are working in places which are to be secure – like power stations.  The idea is that then the army could help at the power stations.
Software mess.  Have you got the new Covid-19 app on your phone?  There are 19 million people who downloaded it … but it was not working properly because the government department had not updated the version and changed the level when people had to be contacted to say they should self-isolate,  The software was ready but was not installed.  That is in addition to the 61 thousand tests carried out by the NHS which were not linked to the database.  That was in the first couple of weeks when it was released in September,  Not sure the covid-19 app is world beating.
