Impact on daily life

Impact 11th January
Ocada is now warning that when you order, you can find that there are replacement foods in your box.  This is because Brexit and staff absence are making it harder to deliver all the foods that people need.
Problems in Northern Ireland food
Tesco and Marks and Spencer say some products have disappeared from the shelves.  This is because of Brexit.  They say there are many forms to fill in and many checks between the UK and Northern Ireland.  They have to hold back some lorries as they do not have all the right paperwork.  The Government now admit that the problems will get worse all over the UK.
Primary schools problems now
Boris said the primary schools should stay open; then he said they should close in London; then close all over; but vulnerable children could go in and children whose parents were key workers.  Then they added children who could not study at home.  Some schools now have 50% of the usual numbers of children.  It does not work… as teachers have to teach half the class in the room and half the class at home.
There is a third vaccine now tested and they say it can be used – Moderna vaccine from USA.  Unfortunately, the supplies will not arrive until Easter. The Pfizer vaccine was tested and yes, it can protect against the new version of Covid.
