Impact 24th June
For England (only): The new social distance rules are:
* from 4th July, if not 2 metres space, people should be one metre apart at least.
* Business has to change office layout and keep people apart, improve the air flow, have protective screens and face covering, change shift times so not so many people arrive at the same time
* restaurants and pubs can open but reduce contact with staff
* customers have to give in their contact details when they go in a pub or restaurant
* Hotels, B&B, campsites and caravan parks can open and people can stay overnight
* two households can meet up inside as well as outside – but have to have social distance
* outdoor playgrounds can open
* hairdressers can open
* libraries, bingo halls, cinemas, museums, funfairs and theme parks can open
Nightclubs are still closed; same as bowling, swimming pools, gyms and soft play – all closed.
Health experts are worried. But the government says that vulnerable people will be sent back into quarantine if there is virus spike in their area.
Look forward to holiday? One problem might be not enough holiday cottages in the UK so it may be harder to find a place to spend the summer.
