Impact on daily life

4th May 2020

Do you have a baby? Or toddler?  Or maybe a grandchild?  Difficult in lockdown.  Babies need parents and that might be OK if parents can stay home but it can be hard to buy all baby things in shops.  Toddlers can’t go to play groups at present, so they miss on contact with other children.  OK to have more skype/facetime but not for toddler-to-toddler.  Grandparents OK.  One good idea for deaf:  lie baby/toddler on floor and draw round arms to make a big hug on paper and then send in post or email.  The new DEAF-HUG?
At present, no evidence that corona virus affects baby when mum is pregnant.
Tribunals for special educational needs are now online and parents will have information in advance of how to take part by video conferencing.    There is information on the NDCS website.
