Impact on daily life

Impact 26th May
In future will we be working in an office?  Since March , half of people say they are working from home.  In the past, we spent nearly one third of time in “the office”.  One manager said before the lockdown, they had over one thousand people in the office; since lockdown, there are only 30 in the office.  But the work of the company has just been as good.  Disadvantage is that it is not so easy to get promotion as the boss does not “see you working” compared to other people.  One person said, “when I go to the office I change clothes, appearance and friendliness;  but now I just slouch around at home.”  The office may not be dead yet.
Education minister says that virus may be here for a year … so “schools must open.”  Very few Local councils want to open their schools.  Scotland says no until 11th August.  Boris Johnson is determined to open schools on 1st June.  Teachers not so sure.
Over the weekend, people in UK and in a lot of countries, have decided that lockdown is over. Beaches were crowded and lots of people enjoyed the sunshine without staying one metre apart.  Tragedy in Cornwall where a teenage girl drowned when her inflatable boat overturned.  Because of lockdown there were no lifeguards on patrol, since March.
