Google paid £50 million in tax – is that a lot?

Google had income of £1.8 billion last year.  They gave the staff over £1 billion in bonus.  But they only paid £50 million to the UK – that was their tax.  Many Governments like the USA, say Google should pay 20% in tax.  Everyone uses Google nearly everyday …. Google should be paying back to ordinary people through the tax.
This year, £4 billion less for poor countries from UK
UK has reduced the money it gives out to poor countries.  Charities who work in those countries are very upset.  Many projects are cancelled.  The Conservatives said they would spend $13 billion to help.  Now they only give £9 billion.
Jaguar Land Rover UK factories to close for a short time.
There is a shortage of micro-chips.  Fridges, and televisions and computers use the chips.  They are also very important in cars.  At the moment, factories do not produce enough of the right chips for cars.  Workers have to go home until the company can get a supply of chips.
Driving tests can start again.
Covid cancelled 500 thousand tests in the last year.  Learner drivers had to keep their L-plates on.  Now it is possible to book a test.  The problem is that people who learned last year have not been driving for a year.  They will need to have more lessons.  Good for the motoring schools.
