Deaf in UK are affected more than other people from virus and lockdown. It is obvious – no deaf clubs, meetings. Deaf schools are closed.
Now people may have to wear masks outside – not good for signing and lip-reading.
BSL information online is hard to understand although there is plenty on television and in official websites. It is hard to know where to look and then to be sure the information is clear. DeafStation is here to try to give deaf people clearer information.
Equipment services to deaf people at home is mostly suspended.
We are collecting more information on the impact on deaf people and will add a lot more detail.
