Impact on daily life

Impact. 6th November
Boris set up a new fast test programme called “moonshot”.  Experts did not think it was possible.  Now they have run a trial of the fast testing and it only picked up half of the real virus cases.  So people were told they were OK when they actually had the virus.  Oh dear, the testing is supposed to start in Liverpool today but experts do not think the test is reliable.
Teachers want to have a new risk assessment in schools.  Half of teachers think the covid security arrangements in their schools are not safe.  Inspectors from health and safety are supposed to check up on schools but very few schools have actually been checked.  There was concern that there was not adequate ventilation in classrooms – windows are supposed to be open.
Activity Alliance and Sport England are worried about the drop in exercise by people who are disabled.  They say there is even less activity than in the first lockdown.  Disabled people are more likely to have the virus but they are also suffering if they cannot have exercise.  Last year and in the summer there were more opportunities to be more active and to be involved in sport but that is on hold for disabled people now.
Police in London arrested over 100 people in a protest against the lockdown.  The people were ignoring the rules about keeping safe.  The police can’t believe that people just do not realise why there are rules.
