Survey of parents says it is very hard to work from home and also help the children with their schoolwork. Some explained they were in a small flat with only one table. They try to do their work and also keep the children happy. This is hard with some children who cannot work on their own. It also leads to arguments because the children don’t treat the parents like teachers. They also say that the quality of the work set by teachers is varied – even in the same school. Children do not expect to be working alone at home. They expect to play. Parents think the children are falling behind.

Although hospitals have to provide BSL the deaf organisations are worried that deaf people are missing out. Lack of interpreters and all the stress of health staff.
