Boris refuses to accept that people have not been able to get tests. The Labour leader, Starmer, explained that parents with children who have symptoms are told to get a test but there are no tests available for hundreds of miles away from where they live. He asked why this is happening and when did Boris find out about. But Boris refused to answer and just accused Starmer of criticising the Test and trace system. The Health Minister said the problem was that too many people were just asking for the test when they had no symptoms and were perfectly well. He was blaming the public for wanting to have a test. A month ago he said everyone could have a test. Boris would not answer the questions.
The rule about only have 6 people to gather means that holiday homes and rented accommodation where there are more than 6 people will not be allowed. This could affect a lot of bookings.
Good news for some. Estate agents say that there is an increased demand for houses now. More people want to have houses with gardens and the stamp duty (tax) has been reduced. So there are more people wanting to move house. Estate agents say the house prices are going up over most of the UK.
Government says go back to work but figures from mobile phone tracking say that very few people have gone back to their offices. In August, data shows only 17% of numbers compared to last year.
