Jabs for Secondary School Pupils in UK
The NHS is making plans to give secondary school pupils the Pfizer vaccine in September. Government and NHS approve. Health experts will decide in the summer.
Welsh lockdown removed on 3rd May.
Households can meet indoors. Gyms, leisure centres are open. Up to 15 adults can do exercise classes and swimming. Sunday, midnight a Swansea swimming pool, opened. Now friends can hug again – are deaf clubs open?
Good for travel in the EU but UK only allows 10 countries
Monday, EU announced people can fly to EU countries in June – only people with vaccine and from countries with low Covid rates. From 17th May, UK people can fly abroad but less than 10 countries have the green light. Other countries, you need to have quarantine when you come back to UK. Travel companies report big increase in people booking holidays. UK Government is worried that people will bring Covid back from holiday.
The Queen and PM Boris congratulate 100 years Northern Ireland
After civil war, Ireland was free but UK kept 6 counties in Northern Ireland as part of the UK. This was official on 3rd May 1921.
