MPs in Parliament have voted in favour of breaking International Law. In January Boris signed the withdrawal treaty with the EU. Now Boris decided he doesn’t like the arrangement and wants to change parts of it for Northern Ireland. However, this means breaking an international treaty … which is not allowed. MPs decided to go ahead anyway. The EU says this would kill off any hope of a Brexit deal. UK says if they get a deal then they will not use this change to the Treaty.
We all know about “save the NHS” slogan but there are worries that we need to “save the care homes”. Because care homes are not run by the Government, they were left out of the campaigns and we know how badly the virus affected them. Now they will have problems with staff. In many places the trained staff come from the EU. From January, because of new rules, they will not be allowed to come to the UK because they earn less than £25,000 and they will not be able to get a visa. There are already staff shortages in many places (UK workers are not keen to work with elderly and sick people). After January, staffing problems will get worse.
California is the largest State in the USA and now it has the most severe lockdown because of the virus. People have to stay at home and not have contact with others. This will have an impact on 27 million people and will last over Christmas.
The Lottery will raise the age for buying tickets from 16 to 18 years from October 2021. The Government are worried that playing the Lottery can lead young people into more serious gambling.
