It is getting better.  Virus case numbers going down.  UK people have mostly the Kent version.  Few people have the South African version.  More and more people have the vaccine.  Experts say the vaccine will work for UK version and also for South African version – but maybe not as good.  People over 70 years can now ask the NHS to have the vaccine.  The virus will keep changing.  It is likely that every year people will get a vaccine .. just like the flu.
Terrible news and video from North of India.  Part of a glacier broke down.  It flooded on to a river, broke through the dams there.  It caused a huge flood.  Nearly 200 people died or missing.
Myanmar now has curfew in many cities.  Everyday there are thousands on the street to protest against the army.  The General was on television.  He said the election was not fair.  Like Trump he says there was fraud.  The election officials say: no fraud.  He says those officials will lose their jobs.  There will be a new election which will be fair.  People just laugh.  They bang pots in the towns and streets.  Why?  They say “to drive away devils” – they mean the army.  Now the army makes a threat.  They will start to shoot the protesters.  What would you do?  Suppose Boris says we will shoot people if they do not stay at home in lockdown?  Terrible for people in Myanmar.
Sport, music and drama are coming for kids in the UK.  They have to catch up.  There will be extra lessons so they can remember how to talk to each other.  Tricky as this may be in summer holidays.
