Last week, Sarah Everard disappeared crossing Clapham Common. They have charged a London Met police officer with her capture and murder. Women wanted to have a vigil (silent protest with candles and light) on the Common. On Saturday hundreds of women came. The Duchess of Cambridge came. In the evening, London Police officers grabbed and handcuffed some of the women. The Home Secretary, Patel, is angry at the way the police behaved … again.
On Sunday British woman, Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe was in court in Iran. They charged her again …with propaganda against Iran. The judge told her to expect a verdict within 7 days. She wanted to be free after 5 years in prison. The UK Foreign Secretary, Dominic Raab has called the charge ‘unacceptable and unjustified’. The Prime Minister Boris Johnson did not make sure that British Embassy staff attended the court case.
