Big supermarkets will refuse to take food from Brazil

Aldi, Lidl, Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Asda, Marks & Spencer and Waitrose will refuse to take food from Brazil.  The reason is Brazil is planning to let developers take land and destroy the Amazon.  Brazil exports $30 billion of goods to Europe – beef, soya beans and coffee.  The supermarkets say Brazil must stop the damage to the Amazon and to the world.  The Brazil President told other leaders they were going to protect the Amazon – the next day they said they would allow farmers to take it over.  Maybe Brazil will listen this time if the supermarkets act together.
You can avoid quarantine if you stop in Turkey
If you are coming from a red list country like India, Pakistan or Bangladesh, you have to stay in hotel quarantine… and pay £1,750.  Many travellers cannot afford this.  Now they stop in Turkey – stay one night – then fly to UK – no quarantine.    This is not helping the UK.  They can bring covid from the red list country.  UK customs have to stop this.  If not, then it is a waste of time to have a red list.
UN says give the vaccine to poor countries before booster vaccine in rich country
World Health Organisation is worried that poor countries do not have the vaccine.  Rich countries now want to give people a third jab – a booster.  This is to help if there is a new version of the covid arriving.  The plan is to give the booster vaccine later this year to give extra protection.  This will mean less again for poor countries.  The WHO wants to give vaccines to poor countries first.
