Moonlighting at the BBC. This means that staff at the BBC who have contracts – large contracts because they appear on television – have been taking extra work and increasing their income by many thousands of pounds. They already early over £100 thousand from the BBC but are using their fame to take on other work. BBC wants to clamp down on this as it can be a conflict of interest.
Hospitals in England say they have not enough money for the operations and care that are needed through the winter. They say that the Government has not provided enough funds despite what the Government says. The hospitals have suffered from 10 years of cost cutting and although here has been money for the pandemic, there is still not enough for the ordinary operations and treatment.
More than 800 senior lawyers and judges have written to the Government to ask for a public apology from Boris and the Home Secretary. The lawyers say that the Government has been attacking lawyers and the Government is claiming that the lawyers are preventing immigrants and others from being deported. At least one lawyer has been attacked recently because some people are against any foreigners. The lawyers’ letter says the Government is encouraging attacks on lawyers.
