Serious leak …. giving out confidential information.  It turns out that the person in charge of the Government’s Vaccine Task Force gave a presentation to an online conference and presented information about the vaccine plans of the Government.  This told people about which vaccines the Government was considering and the timetables.  This was considered to be secret and sensitive at this time.  Not sure if she will be punished?  Unlikely because she went to private school with Boris’s sister and she is the wife of a Tory Minister who went to Eton with Boris.  Strange how old school mates get the jobs.
Scotland has a new Tier system (not lockdown) and that starts today.  There are 5 tiers and there are 32 different local areas.  You can use a postcode tracker online to find out which area you are in and which rules apply.  People are not to mix with other people at home/inside and not to travel across the country into higher tier areas.  They say they could still have a national lockdown if this system does not work.
When the Government started the furlough scheme in March, they paid out a lot of money.  This was not money they had in their pockets.  They had to borrow it.  That was OK because they said the interest rate was really low … only 0.1%.  BUT.. the rules about this were not clear and the Government ended up paying interest at 5% or more.  For the first three months, the Government paid over £65 million … to the banks – that is taxpayer money.  It looks like you can get rich during the pandemic.
