EU are having their first face to face meeting this week to discuss the plans to help recover from the virus.  They have to agree a plan to spend 705 billion euros. To help all countries to recover.  At the same time they have to work on the budget for the EU for the next 7 years… this is more than one thousand trillion euros.  These are very, very large amounts of money.  Scary.
Public transport (buses, trains) are trying to encourage people to travel.  Campaign called “travel safer this summer”.  London Transport has 94% of services but only 20% of people, compared to last year.  Government is paying for these empty trains and buses.  It is still confusing – work from home or get back to the office; wear masks in shops but not outside and not in offices.  Other countries very clear – wear a mask if you go out.
Every Wednesday in Parliament, the Prime Minster has to come in and has to answer questions from the MPs.  Labour Party is allowed to ask 6 questions and then it is open to other MPs.  Very often it is just a lot of insults and Theresa May when she was prime Minister, almost never answered any questions from Labour.  Now with new Labour leader the questions are more precise.  Boris still tries to insult and make jokes.  Biggest question yesterday was if the Prime Minister had read the doctors and scientists report about the need to prepare for a second wave of virus.  This says it could be a disaster if no test and trace system is working and it is urgent that the country prepares in the next few weeks.  The Government paid for the report.  Boris had not read it.
