Government now changed its mind over the smartphone app.  They said it was tested in Isle of Wight and it was to be ready in middle of May. Not ready.  They were told in April it would not work but millions of pounds spent.  So Government now switched to the Apple-Google app which Germany and other countries are using. 
Test and Tracing system is not working very well.  About a quarter of people are not giving details or cannot be contacted after they have had a positive test that they have the virus.  Not many people trust the system and the Government keeps going back on what they say.
Today, they will announce a new grant to schools to help children who have fallen behind in their work due to school closure.  They say it is £1 billion shared among schools.  £350 million is to buy in extra tutors to work with the children.  Not simple.  They say external tutors charge £50 per hour (!) and Government will pay part of that.  School still has to find £12 per hour for each lesson.  Not sure schools have enough money.
Grenfell Tower fire and people died.  Remember in 2017, block of flats in London.  After that the Government said there3 was £600 million to be given to fix the other blocks of flats in the country to make them safe.  Huge delays.  So far only £133 million been spent…. After 3 years.  People still living in unsafe flats.
