Now that pubs, restaurants and hotels can open, as well as campsites and theme parks, there is a surge in travel companies offering “stay-cation” holidays – meaning you can book a cottage or hotel somewhere in the UK. But before rushing in, remember that Wales and Scotland have not opened up just yet.
Scotland schools are planning to open fully on 11th August without social distancing, as long as the virus rates are low.
Health leaders are now saying we need to be ready for a second wave of the virus.  They published an open letter which says there should be an urgent assessment of whether the hospitals and health care are properly prepared.  They say some progress has been made but there is not a proper test and track system.  Boris says he does not think there is a risk of a second waveLabour says all NHS staff have to be tested every week to make sure they do not pass the virus on to patients.
More problems in the UK/EU Brexit discussions.  EU asked
for details from organisations in the UK about the financial trading and rules they are going to follow.  Very few have answered.  EU cannot move forward.  If not resolved by July, then UK companies will have to open offices in other EU countries if they want to work with the EU.  There are also issues about payments to farmers which could mean cheap food being produced in UK or EU.
