More worries about job loss
ASOS company has bought Topshop and Miss Selfridge.  Not so good… they only buy the name .. not the shops.  This may mean 2,500 losing their job.B
oris tries to be positive
Boris thinks it is possible to plan for holidays in the summer.  The number of virus cases is reducing – still 21 thousand.  Health experts are not so positive.  There are over 9 million people have the vaccine.  Nine out of 10 people over 80 got the vaccine (first dose).  But it will be a long time before everyone has the vaccine.  Many still refuse. Labour complains that teachers should have the vaccine now.  All carers want the vaccine as well.
Welsh students to stay at home until after Easter
The Universities will have online lectures; no on-site learning.  The students complain that they should have been told much earlier.  They have to pay rent and bills for their accommodation.
Astra Zeneca offer
After the fuss, Astra Zeneca promise to give 9 million doses of vaccine to the EU by March.
Protests in the Netherlands
There are violent protests in the Netherlands over the lockdown.  Some people deny that Covid exists; other say OK it exists, but the lockdown is too much;  other people smash windows and set cars on fire.   Bad times.
