Home-school meals are awful
After the campaign by footballer Rashford, the Government agreed to pay for free school meals if children were not in school.  But what the parents received was terrible.  It was supposed to be one week supply … they said what they got was not enough for one day.  The Government is paying £30 for each one; the parents say they could buy what is in the box for £5.  They want to have money vouchers so that they can buy the food for the children.
They want to use the 25th Amendment
In Washington, the House of Representatives have voted to tell the Vice President to remove Trump.  The 25th Amendment is part of the Constitution.  It says if a President is not fit – ill or mentally ill – the Vice President can take over. The Vice President has refused.  Now there will be a new vote on Wednesday.  This vote will be for impeachment.  This is another way that they can remove a President.  They say it is because of “crimes and misdemeanours”.  They say Trump has committed a crime by encouraging his supporters to attack the Capitol.  Bad times in the USA.
Washing clothes makes pollution in the Ocean
Scientists discovered that the Arctic Ocean between Norway and Canada is polluted with microplastics.  These are tiny pieces of plastic (the size of small seed) which come from clothes when you wash them.  A lot of clothes are made of polyester (read the label).  When you put the clothes in the washing machine the tiny fibres in the clothes start to break apart and they are washed out, into the drains and then out into the rivers and then the sea.  They turn up in the ice in the Arctic Ocean.  Shocking – because the Arctic Ocean is thousands of miles away from where you wash your clothes.  Just shows that all parts of the planet are connected.
