On Monday, the MPs voted for immigration law includes that people from other countries who worked in the NHS have to pay when they need to go the doctor.  On Wednesday, Labour Party told Boris, ‘this is unfair’.  ‘No’ he said it would cost £900 million to let them off.  Yesterday Government changed its mind. It is not £900 million, much less.  So NHS workers don’t have to pay for doctor.  Not clear if includes all staff in the NHS – like porters – and care workers.
There is still a lot of doubt that the new virus Testing and Tracing system is going to work from June 1st.  Boris Johnson said it will be “world beating”.  Scotland and other countries have local systems to do this and don’t need big technology.  People are just called by phone or sent texts.  Everyone agrees this system is needed – just that it should have been sorted out much earlier.
In Scotland, Nicola Sturgeon has given ‘route map’ to end lockdown.  From next week, people can meet up with others from one household.  Also garden centres and golf and tennis to open.  Schools to open on 11th August but teachers start to prepare in June and will be mix of in school and home learning.  Restaurants stay closed but drive-through and take-away food OK to start. Shops still closed
