England Chief Medical Officer made a short video for TV. He says in serious voice – “stay at home, do not go out, save lives.” The Government is worried as the virus spreads and now they try to make the message really hard. People have not been paying attention – now they try to be very serious and direct. Vaccines are coming but scientists say there will still be problems all this year and next year.
Too many Health staff are ill
There are now 46 thousand health care staff off work because of Covid. They say the NHS could collapse as there are not enough people to care for the sick people in hospital in some areas.
Usually after Christmas, in January, people are worried because they spent too much money and all the bills arrive. This year, the cost of Christmas is that people were mixing in their houses and spreading the virus. They were supposed to have bubbles and stay with them, but many people moved from one bubble to another. Health experts told the Government that the virus would love Christmas. Now they say the effects are beginning … over 60 thousand new cases a day. We see pictures from the seaside and parks with people mixing and much too close and no masks.
Worse and worse in London, as hospitals are getting too many Covid cases. Now there are not enough staff for 999 services. Police are being trained to drive the ambulances.
