There is a shortage of vaccines now
– no new appointments for under 50 year-olds just now.  But the Government says if you are over 50 you can still book in, during this week.  People who need a second dose in April can have it.  After April, people under 50 can go in for a vaccine.   The Government says UK is still on the right timetable.  From May 17th there can be international travel, but you will have to go into quarantine for 2 weeks when you get back… if you come from a country on the red list with high numbers of cases.
A new problem is vaccine queue jumpers.   Some people are claiming to be care workers or social workers and demanding the vaccine.  They are not in the target groups.  There have been some bad arguments when the staff refuse to give them the vaccine.  Staff want more checks on ID before they turn up at the vaccine centres.
You may think the Brexit deal is all sorted now.  Not true.  Because PM Boris agreed everything at the last minute, the EU only gave a temporary agreement.  All the EU countries have to meet to agree the details.  There are 24 special committees to work on the details.  Up to now, none of the committees have been set up.  The temporary arrangement is until 30th April.  At the moment, the EU is suing the UK over Northern Ireland and there are other arguments.  The whole deal could collapse and we would have a no-deal Brexit.
There are serious floods in the North of Sydney in Australia.  Thousands of people have to leave their homes.  There have been days of heavy rain and the rivers are overflowing.
