Britain is selling more weapons and arms to Governments around the world, than Russia or France and is only second biggest after USA. This was £11 billion in 2019. They were told to stop selling arms to Saudi Arabia but that ban was lifted this year.
Do you have a good connection to the Internet? The Government promised that UK would have full-fibre broadband (really fast) by 2025. Only 14% of UK has this at the moment; other countries have 80% of connections are superfast. Now with people working at home there is more demand for best connections. New report says the government is not likely to get the fast broadband in time. There are problems about how to reach country areas and now they have given BT the power to charge more for Internet connections. Maybe you don’t know but all the connections to the Internet (except cable) go through BT even though there are different companies who sell it to you. You may get faster Internet but you will probably be charged more for it.
Interesting for deaf people but a lot of signs/gestures are going out of date. Old signs for “computers” – like big circles in the air or “telephone” where your thumb and little finger stick out by the side of your face – lots of young people don’t know what you are talking about. We don’t have computers – we have i-pads (“finger in palm of hand”), no phones (just “flat hand on side of face”), we don’t ask for a bill (“finger writing in air”) because you order stuff on your phone and scan the codes. BSL is changing and so are gestures for hearing people.
