New plan for pills to stop covid in UK
Government is setting up a new task force (group of experts).  Their job is to find new medicine to fight covid.  One idea is to have pills.  If you test positive or are near someone who is positive, you can take these pills to stop the spread.    The Government says it wants the pills by the autumn.
EU will sue the UK for breaking the Brexit agreement
People in Northern Ireland are angry because of the checks on lorries going into Northern Ireland.  PM Boris said there were no checks.  The EU says UK has to follow the agreement.  Boris signed it.  Now he says it is ludicrous ( he means – totally stupid)….and he says he wants to “remove the unnecessary protuberances and barriers….. we are getting the barnacles off the thing and sandpapering it into shape.”  Can anyone understand what he is saying?  Does it make any sense in English?  Oh dear.
Covid worries over India version
PM Boris cancelled his trip to India.  Now India is on a red list.  But this does not apply until Friday.  By Friday another 12 planes will arrive from India.  That means, 3,000 people arriving.  Scientists say the India version is serious and spreads fast.  In the UK, the number of cases doubles every week.  Why is the UK so slow to take action?USA now bans travel to 34 countries because of covid.  But that will increase to 80% of all countries in the world.
