Funeral of Prince Philip is on Saturday 17th April at 3pm.  
He died Friday.  He was the Queen’s husband and he was 99 years old.  You can watch the service on television.  They say it is a “special royal” service in St George’s Chapel, at Windsor Castle.Close family can go – his children, grandchildren.  Maximum 30 people – because of Covid rules.  PM Boris is not going there.  Family asks people – “please don’t come to watch.”  Prince Harry will come from California.  Some people hope he will be able to talk with his brother, Prince William – can they become friends again?
First Minister, Nicola Sturgeon says PM Boris cannot refuse a referendum for independence if SNP win the election.
PM Boris has said no to a referendum but many MPs agree he cannot refuse.  Election is on 6th May.  If SNP win the majority, they will have pressure to have the referendum.  The UK can break up if Scottish people vote to be an independent country.
Trouble in Ukraine – Russian troops moved to the border.
There are worries about more fighting in part of Ukraine.  In 2014, troops supported by Russia took over the area.  It was peaceful for a while.  Now the troops have killed Ukrainian soldiers with rockets.   USA and European leaders say they do not accept Russian interference.
On Saturday, there was no riot in Northern Ireland – respect for Prince Philip.
The troubles started over the Brexit agreement.  PM Boris said there were no border checks.  But there is a border between England and Northern Ireland.  Lorries have to be checked.  The DUP party say it is not acceptable.  The riots injured 90 police officers. Children and youths were throwing bricks, fireworks and petrol bombs at police.
