Bosses in UK can earn up to 100 times more than their lowest paid workers. Big companies like JD Sports or Ocado pay their bosses huge salaries and bonuses. Sometimes even if the company is not doing well, bosses can get what they want because of their employment contracts. Companies have benefited from government grants and made excessive profits during the pandemic. However, the rewards are not shared with other workers. Major companies should reduce the pay gap and share the profits the lowest workers.
House building rules in England have been updated. Angry MPs say the South has benefitted far more for a long time than the Midlands and North England. The Government say they want to build 300,000 new homes every year. They want to build the houses up North. Houses in the South are 2 ½ times more expensive than the North. Because people working from home, Government suggests that empty shops and offices could be changed into new cheaper homes. Can they really build 300,000 homes every year … that people can afford to buy or rent?
Over 4 million cancer scans have been missed this year because of Covid. The cancer has not stopped growing and so many cancers will be discovered much too late.
It may need a miracle from Santa Claus. Toy shops say that many orders for toys are stuck at the ports due to the jam on containers. They are going to miss Christmas. Come on Rudolf! Don’t let the kids down.
