Snowy weather in the North and Scotland
An amber warning now till this afternoon for North England and Scotland. A big risk for freeze and thick snow. May affect road and rail traffic. Possible rail travel may be delayed or cancelled. Also power cuts and mobile phones may black out? Expect 10 to 20 cm of snow.
1,564 deaths from Covid.
Biggest number so far. Altogether now 84,767 deaths. Very alarming! More deaths in the second wave than the first one. Hospitals are almost full all over UK. Many regular operations cancelled at short notice because need more beds for Covid patients. Doctors have to limit some vital treatments because of shortage of staff and equipment. Some patients will miss out and maybe die?
ASDA vaccine centre
In Birmingham, patients with NHS appointment letters will get vaccines from qualified medical staff from 25th January 08.00 to 20.00 seven days a week. Will be inside where clothes used to be sold. It will be the first time NHS will have a service in a supermarket.
A Raven is missing Merlina, the missing raven joined the flock in 2007. Now not seen for several weeks and maybe dead. Usually has 6 ravens live there.
